Grandma, mum, Petri, you
"Grandma, mum, Petri, you" is a project about identity and love. It is a short documentary that depicts my grandmother, Petri, in different daily-life activities at home and outside. Petri (77 years old) is in a very advanced stage of Alzheimer's. This means she suffers from severe cognitive impairment, memory loss, confusion, mood swings and mobility difficulties, but this documentary focuses on what she can do and who she is. Her personality is shown through the various relationships with her very close family. The footage was filmed during January 2016, while she was still living at home, right before she permanently moves to live in a residence.

Amaranta is an audiovisual ethnography student who has just started making films about things that are close to them. They believe that being an insider offers insights that are not possible otherwise, and subjectivity is not a virus to be fought, but a position that enriches any creation. Their main interests are gender issues, (dis)ability, radical feminism, sexuality, antifascist activism, and mental health.
