Sanctuary
Sanctuary explores the line between personal reality
and dreams and the consequence of “breaking point” for
humans as individuals. Inspired by the surrealistic and
existential themes of the films, The Shining and
Coraline, Sanctuary symbolises the harshness of mental
disorders on teenagers, and how it can cause them to lose
their grip on reality and enter the “dream world”. This
film predominately focuses on the codes and conventions
of German Expressionism cinema whilst incorporating
French New Wave inspired existentialist themes. Sanctuary primarily appeals to anyone attempting to struggle
against isolation in modern society.

Achieved a 7 in the International Bacchelaurate (IB) Film Studies HL course at Queensland Academies for Creative Industries (QACI), attended 2013 - 2015.
About to study my first year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film, TV and New Media Production at Queensland University of Technology.
Sanctuary is a film I created for final IB Film Studies HL assessment. It is very much based on personal experiences.
