Film has always been Paapa’s passion since infancy and he has taken on various roles in the production business.
However, he finally settled for what he always likes best in the filmmaking business and that is Directing coupled with Writing and Producing. He trained at NAFTI with a B.F.A. in Film Animation.
Having directed a scene in a feature film as his first entry into the directing business in 2006, which he was editing; his interest peaked making him launch out into directing commercials, a few being that for GCB and 90 Minutes sports newspaper. He also directed and edited the hit TV program Fontomfrom TV that featured on ETV Ghana and co-edited DJ Black Cypher that featured on Viasat 1.
He had his first feature break as an assistant director in the movie Kweiba in 2010 which he edited as well. A story set in the eighties of a young lady who suffered unduly due to her love for a young man who couldn’t handle a sacrifice and the consequences thereof that he demanded of her. Produced by She (Yvonne Ohene-Djan) of which she starred as the titular character along with David Dontoh and Kobina Amissah-Sam (Beasts of No Nation).
Nevertheless, he had his major directorial debut with the feature film, Daggers of Life, produced by Emma Alevi who was also the lead and starred Vicky Zugah and William Addo as well. A film with the theme based on FGM.
He currently lives in Accra, Ghana and working on his next project.
Working on This project has really been a wonderful experience . It was an opportunity to understand another culture in my country and directing in a language I do not understand was a plus to my carrer
