7-II
The audiovisual work entitled "7" infers that the concept of resurrection can also be interpreted from a contingent, functional perspective; that it does not always have to be assumed from an idealized, mythical approach, or limited only to a desire for “perpetuation”.
Amid the pandemic, each one of us, all, but alone, we face these possible resurrections before the turning points that are presented to us in the uncertainty.
One can -and must- take the risk of a daily revival. Encourage the process of gestation and dialectical death of certain preferences, certain devotions, certain sensitive dispositions towards something or someone. Compose states of opinion, conjectures in a systemic way, and break them all when they are about to become dogma.

Aimée Joaristi, born in Cuba, is a multidisciplinary artist who explores themes related to unconsciousness, playful transgression, Cuban migration, and female vindication in her recent works. From painting and installation, to performance and video art, multiple media are conceived as one more channel of communication for those messages that are born from intuition and self-exploration.
Among her outstanding exhibitions are the 13th Biennial of Havana 2019, the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Mantova 2017, the Biennial of Guayaquil 2016, the 5th International Triennial of Fiber and Textile Art of Riga 2015, Matadero Madrid, Museo C.A.V. La Neomudéjar Spain, Museum City of Art Zapadores Spain, PHOTO Spain, ARCO Madrid, ART Lima Peru, among others.
Her works are in private collections in Chile, France, Mexico, Madrid and other important public collections, among which are the Wifredo Lam Museum in Cuba, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Latvia and the C.A.V La Neomudéjar Museum in Spain.
I was born in Havana, Cuba spending my childhood and my teens in Madrid, Spain, dedicating my life to art and since my youth, to architecture. Intuition is the path that I rely on, because it offers the integration of reason and the transpersonal being. No theories or reasoning. I approach to art with no plan. I feel excited with all the possibilities underlying the use of shape, line, color, texture and space.
I use the immediacy and qualities of improvisation and compositional elements seizing the instinctive opportunities with no excuses or pretexts. My artwork proposes a playful transgression of rules, a nonfigurative volition to turn down reality, with no subject or dogma, dismantling the traditional system of composition, discovering the dynamic-fractal view of reality.
I recombine and build diverse meanings that are the points of departure for any transformation. I do not favor any fragment over another; I simply allow my awareness to flow, promoting the perception between content and its underlying essence. Each mark, cut, brushstroke or sprayed color, contains the next question that I transfer to you, for you to question yourself too:
“Who am I but a cut in the finger
Who am I but a bed less river
Who am I but a path without guide
Who am I but a beat with no echo”
