Adriana is an undergraduate student at The Catholic University of America whom is completing a major in Drama, minor in Media Studies and certificate in Video Production. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at the age of 18 to attend college. She’s an accomplished Puerto Rican performer ever since she was a child, forming part of an original children's band called "InBox" at the age of 9, and then assuming the roles of "Annie" in Annie the Musical & "Wendy Darling" in Peter Pan Piers Charters’ Musical. She got interested in filmmaking while working in Hollywood set "Replicas" (starring Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve). The experience made her realize that filmmaking is her ultimate passion. She’s aspiring to become a future actress, director and screenwriter in the film industry.
This film was created while Adriana was enrolled in her "Media & Composition" course. Having such a large portion of her family and friends living in Puerto Rico, Hurricane Maria affected her very much. Being a student, she could only afford doing fundraisers (bake sales) with some of her fellow Puerto Rican students, but she thought it was not enough. That's what sparked the idea of doing a short film that would show the Island she called home while growing up along with depicting the hardships that Puerto Rican's are facing in the aftermath of the storm.
