Writer Biography - Kevin Shepherd

Kevin Shepherd is the head writer of Dojolo Films and our Chief Writer here at Mediaverse Studios. He believes in the importance of not just a good story but a great story. He finds his strengths in world building and efficiency in producing compelling pages. Kevin doesn't only focus on the writing side of projects he is quick to manage lenses, sparks some lights, move points, and the occasional furniture.
He was awarded the award of achievement at the 31st annual IMPA awards as well as honorable mention for best writing at the Des Moines horror 48hr challenge in 2022. At the 32nd annual IMPA awards two projects he wrote; Shut The Box and Chinese Food & A Movie received the Award of Excellence and the Award of Achievement respectfully. Kevin is an alumni of ScreenwritingU where he has logged numerous hours honing his craft

Writer Statement

The idea for this story came to life when Kevin was having dinner with his siblings and they were discussing movies and dating stories. When the idea of people able to obtain the name of their true love making dating more of an adventure and less of a task. They laughed it off and enjoyed the rest of their siblings night out.

For weeks Kevin couldn’t let the idea go and before he knew it the theme, premise, and core group of friends were created. He then decided to run with the project and ended up with a 90 page script. It’s been through several readers and edits to fine tune everything from character points and arcs to set-ups and pay offs, and team assembly. And now this team believes it is ready for the world
