Awards & Prizes

The award categories are currently:

1. Best Narrative Short Film
2. Best Documentary Short Film
3. Best Animated Short Film
4. Best Experimental Short Film
5. Best Comedy Short Film
6. Best Horror/Thriller Short Film
7. Best Student Short Film
8. Audience Choice Award

Special consideration is given to films that highlight diversity in gender and race amongst their cast and crew.

Rules & Terms

1. Eligibility:
- The festival is open to filmmakers of all nationalities and backgrounds.
- Only short films with a maximum duration of 20 mins will be considered.
- Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2023, regardless of their previous screening status.
- Multiple submissions from a single filmmaker are accepted, but each film must be submitted separately.

2. Submission Process:
- All film submissions must be made through our official festival submission platform.
- Filmmakers must provide a secure online screener of their film for consideration.
- Films must be submitted with English subtitles if the dialogue is in a language other than English.
- Submission fees, if applicable, must be paid in full at the time of submission.

3. Selection and Notifications:
- The festival's selection committee will review all submitted films and determine the official selections.
- Selected filmmakers will be notified of their acceptance via email by October 31, 2023.
- If your film is accepted, you must provide the festival with high-resolution screening files as per the specifications provided.

4. Copyright and Permissions:
- By submitting a film to the festival, the filmmaker confirms that they have obtained all necessary rights, releases, and permissions for the film, including but not limited to music rights, talent releases, and any copyrighted material used.
- The festival will not be held liable for any copyright infringements or unauthorized use of materials in the submitted films.

5. Festival Screenings and Awards:
- The festival retains the right to screen accepted films during the festival dates, both in physical and virtual formats, as determined by the festival organizers.
- The official schedule, including screening times and venues, will be determined by the festival organizers.
- A jury appointed by the festival will determine the award winners in each category, except for the Audience Choice Award.
- The decisions of the jury and festival organizers are final and binding.

6. Promotion and Publicity:
- By participating in the festival, filmmakers grant the festival the right to use excerpts or stills from their films for promotional purposes.
- The festival reserves the right to use the submitted film and filmmaker information for marketing and publicity purposes.

7. Festival Etiquette:
- Filmmakers, attendees, and participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner during festival events and screenings.
- Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion from the festival.

8. Liability:
- The festival and its organizers will take reasonable care of the submitted films, but will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of materials.

9. Agreement to Rules:
- Submitting a film to the festival implies that the filmmaker has read, understood, and agreed to comply with all the festival rules and terms.
