The 50°C Gaze

The attitude towards sex in oriental culture is conservative and obscure. Today, sexual freedom is regarded as the expression of social openness and human liberation. However, people found that with the increasing of sexual openness and the discussion on sex topics, more and more news about sexual assault, sexual violence and even sexual violence on campus are also show up in the public view, which make me rethink the topic of sexual openness.

This is an experimental short film. The film reduces the hue of the picture by 50% and only retains the saturation of two colors including red and green, creating a gray and cold atmosphere. I use a lot of symbolic metaphors for sexual violence and sexual harassment. The film breaks the the single time narration through editing, conveys the inner world of the perpetrators and victims in campus violence and gender discrimination, and always questions the spectator's identity from the perspective of the first person's eyes. The work expresses that no freedom can cross the boundary of morality! No bystander is innocent in the face of violence. This is an understanding and face, repentance and redemption!
