Director Biography - Bridget Stokes

Currently, Bridget Stokes is in pre-production for a short film she is directing/producing titled Think Fast. She has several other projects in development through her production company, Instant Pictures, including Emmett, her second feature film as a director, which Instant Pictures will produce alongside Scooter Braun Films and Armian Pictures and The Lost Husband, based on the novel of the same name, which she will produce. Stokes is currently a co-creator on a television adaptation of The Volunteer loosely based on a feature Stokes produced in 2013, which won the Best Narrative Feature Award at the Urbanworld Film Festival. Prior to that, Stokes wrote and directed the feature film Herman & Shelly and produced short film Coffee, which was an official selection at SXSW Film Festival. Bridget has been a shadowing director on Amazon’s Transparent, ABC’s The Goldbergs and CBS’s Scorpion. Stokes graduated from Brown University with a degree in Art Semiotics and Africana Studies and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
