Director Biography - Jason Karman

Jason Karman is a Vancouver-based screenwriter and director whose films have screened at festivals in Brazil, Hong Kong, China, across Europe, United States and Canada. He received the Gerry Brunet Memorial Award at Vancouver Queer Film Festival in 2011, and in 2015 was recipient of the Jury Choice Award at Reel Pride Winnipeg.

Director Statement

Struggling with both his sexuality and living in a small town, Michael is desperate to understand what love is. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”, when Michael really likes someone and believes he has a connection with them, his unrealistic expectations set in and they reject him, unleashing an insecure and controlling monster.
