The comedy is set in an attractive environment of shooting one of those never-ending TV series. Thomas, a young director, meets Jane and fells in love with her. Because of her, he revolts against the emptiness of the TV series and implements a character of a Mafia boss, which is inspired by a real Mafioso, into the plot of the series. Public rating rises up immediately but new content offends the real Mafioso. Because of this, Thomas is in danger and forced to disappear to witness protection program without telling Jane or anyone else. Far, far away in a village in the middle of nowhere Thomas finds out that he truly loves Jane and runs from there back to Prague to tell her everything.

Director Biography - Miloslav

Miloslav Šmídmajer; born 5. September 1959; Litoměřice, Czech Republic.

After his graduation, Miloslav Šmídmajer started working for Czech Television for which he shot his very first documentary Hold on to the Dream (a film about Miloš Forman from 1990). After this debut, many other famous personas “starred” in front of the lens of his documentary camera: Miloslav Ondříček, Theodor Pištěk, Saul Zaentz, Jiří Menzel, Jan Hammer, Luciano Pavarotti, Magdalena Kožená, Nazareth… In 2003, Miloslav Šmídmajer founded the company Bio Illusion that concentrates on film production and film distribution. He produced a long list of films and most of them became box-office hits in the Czech Republic (ranked in the Czech TOP 10 of films with the highest attendance). He produced animated film In the Attic directed by Jiří Bárta that received prestigious awards at film festivals in e.g. Tokyo, New York or Bilbao. The film was also released in cinemas all over the world including countries such as USA, France or Japan.
He also produced The Poets Never Lose Hope, then family comedy Taming Crocodile. He also produced his directorial debut Hell with Princess (Audience Award at the Zlín IFF; ranked 8th in the Czech TOP 10 of movies with the highest attendance), The Wedding on the BattleField, document about Milos Forman: What Doesn’t Kill you..., mini series Family, teenager’s comedy Waking Up Yesterday, animation for kids called Lucky Four: Serving the King, romantic drama Bella Mia, based on true story, that has been shown over Goa Film Festival, unique documentary about rock band Nazareth: Until We Drop. And his last produced title TO SEE THE SEA it is first film made (as if) by a kid.
Since it release it has been awarded by: Montreal International Children's Film Festival – (Main prize, Innovative movie, Kids jury award), Zlin film festival (Main Prize, Kids Jury award, Best actor) Finale Plzen (Special Prize), Motovun FF (Main prize), Seoul int'l youth film festival (awarded SIYFFS eyes award in kid's eye section). It has been also selected for: film festival Munchen, Cineast - festival du film d'europe centrale et orientale au Luxembourg, Schlingel, zurich film festival, kinder festival - xxvi. International Childrenfilmfestival, Tromsø Internasjonale filmfestival, Czech and Slovak film festival in Sydney, International Film Festival Bratislava, KINOdiseea International Children's Film Festival, Kinder Festival - XXVI.
