The Duke of Ribeira
There was a very well known person in Ribeira called the Duke of Ribeira. He became famous for saving many people from the river Douro and for pulling out the bodies of people who drowned. This film is a tribute to this common man that nowadays has a statue in Ribeira, in front of the place where he was born.

“International students’ competition – MINI (under 18 years old)”: 1st place (Best Film) and 1st place (Best Film - Europe).
The film was made by Children from the Anilupa´s animated film workshop of Associação de Ludotecas do Porto, 3rd B form of EB1 Cerco do Porto School. Animation centre ANILUPA (CLIA_Anilupa) of Associação de Ludotecas do Porto is an educational and cultural centre that develops a wide variety of activities in the field of animation. CLIA_Anilupa aims to encourage active participation of all members of the public by giving the possibility to get involved in film production, to learn about the emergence of cinema in interactive way and to participate in other educational and creative activities. The filmography of the centre at the moment contains more than 200 films, made by children, young people and adults from various organisations.
