Director Biography - Laetitia Cazaux

Passionate about films and filmmaking, Laetitia studied Films at Université Denis Diderot in Paris and soon after had her first film job as a trainee assistant director with Archipel 35 Productions. The creative aspect being her favourite, Laetitia made 3 short films in France - one of them, 'Jeu de Mort et de Hasard', got selected at several French film festivals.

Wanting to know more about the entire film process, Laetitia worked as a freelance Credits editor at C.M.C, a post-production company near Paris before packing her bags to settle in England and graduate from a Fiction Film Productions Masters at Salford University. Laetitia made 2 short films there, '11 o'clock' a 4 mins absurd short and 'Howard Fleischer', her final Masters project.

In Manchester, Laetitia started to work as a film runner, mostly on commercials, and in 2013, set up 48 FRAMES, a video services company that she co-owns and runs with Alex Jackson. The company branched out into 48 FRAMES WEDDINGS, specialising in wedding videos. Now living in London, 48 FRAMES is on its way to expansion into the Corporate Video industry.

Director Statement

The message behind On the Edge of the Road is something that I find so important in life and crucial to find happiness: Being yourself - without any obstacles created by your fear of judgement. That's the realisation the character comes to and I hope it can inspire some people. It's a long way to go but worth trying.
