Samuel is a very personnal movie.
It's inspired by the environment and the people i've grown up with.
It's realistic but also very poetic by its visual narration. I'm influenced by the naturalism and freedom of the european cinema, as well by urban american directors such as Cassavetes, Scorsese or Gray. I'm looking for something real and sensitive, looking for the beauty into rough characters.
The movie was shot in the underprivileged suburb around Paris, which is rarely shown on screen and offers a different vision of France than what people are used to see.
The movie is an original drama about deep feelings and style, and accessible to a large audience.
