Bradley Aiken, MD
Brad Aiken is the Medical Director for Rehabilitation at Baptist Hospital since 1989. His subspecialty certifications in inpatient brain injury, outpatient brain injury, inpatient stroke and outpatient stroke rehabilitation programs.
He began writing science fiction while in college at Boston University, and published his first novel, Starscape: The Silver Bullet in 2000. He published the second novel in this series The Starscape Project in 2004. His third novel Mind Field, drawing on his medical expertise was published in 2007. His fourth novel, and latest release and is featured today and this is third novel in his Starscape trilogy: Zone of the Tenth Degree. Dr. Aiken’s short stories have appeared in the national magazine Analog Science Fiction and Fact and internationally in the Russian magazine, ESLI. . His short stories have been complied into a new book titled Small Doses of the Future-A Collection of Medical Science Fiction Stories. He has ventured into the Vampire genre with a short story in the New Blood collection.
He has been recognized on numerous occasions by Miami Metro Magazine and Us News and World Report as one of the top physicians in his field in the South Florida area. Dr. Aiken has received numerous science awards, including the Navy Science Award, as well as awards from the Army, Air Force and NASA. He has lectured at both medical and science fiction conventions on topics in new and upcoming medical technology for rehabilitation.
