Director Biography - Nydia Simone

Nydia is a filmmaker based in LA. After studying Theatre in NYC she came to LA in 2013 to further pursue her acting career and quickly learned she would have to create her won work if she intended to stay in the game. After a few months of writing and producing court shows in Culver City she interned at the Cannes Film Fest for an inside look at the International Film market and decided to tell her own stories. In This Life is a web series based on her struggle to success and all the baggage that comes with it.

Director Statement

In This Life is a web series based on the struggle artists have achieving their dreams in the mist of the real obstacles they face. With rent at an all time high and student loans in the face of every 20 year old, the dream seems impossible yet millions choose to chase it anyway. I was inspired to create this series based on my own experiences as a struggling actor and I knew so many people could relate. Whether your'e an actor, musician, visual artist or a photographer you'll probably be able to relate to Kyiah on some level.
