VULTURES OF LALITPUR
Vultures are great friends of humanity. It is a natural scavanger.
If this animal becomes extinct, then we will see dead animals around with epidemics spreading all over.
There were plenty of vultures about 20 years back, but today we can count their number on fingers.
Of late, there has been a sudden decline in their numbers.
In 1999 in India , a Vulture Alert was declared.
Their decline is a bio-diversity loss.
The film explores the reasons for their decline, its consequences and the need for their conservation.
There are very few places In the world , where vultures are living.
In India in Devgarh, District Lalitpur Vultures are breeding successfully.
Vultures like to stay at uninhabited places. But mankind has hardly left any such place today.Today, there is no place for Vultures to nest or to roost.
If these animals donot survive, human existence will also be in jeopardy.
Live and let live .We need to live. They need to live.
Only then, the life cycle on the planet earth will be maintained.

In 2005, I initiated setting up of a production house “ REELISM FILMS “ ( www.reelismfilms.in) with the help of family and friends. Reelism Films made its first low-budget fiction film -MISSED CALL, in 2005. I was involved in the conceptualization, script development and production of MISSED CALL, which till date has been screened at 15 International Film Festivals, besides representing India in Cannes 2007 and being declared as the Best International Feature Film at Red Sea International Film Festival, Israel 2008. MISSED CALL was also selected for Indian Panorama 2006 and was the opening film at IFFI, Goa 2006.
In 2013, I directed and produced a short film (based on Brain Cancer/Palliative Care) for an NGO titled –“a few days MORE”, which has been shown at various Film Festivals in India and abroad including Ladhak Film Festival and MAMI 2013.
In 2015, I completed my first feature film based on the life and films of Girish Kasaravalli ( Life in Metaphors : A Portrait of Girish Kasarvalli). Besides being shortlisted by NFDC for Film Bazaar, the film has been shotlisted for screening at Dhaka Film Festival.
