The Other Swimmer
Ned, a retired movie stuntman has been swimming every day for 20 years since suffering a career-ending accident on set and subsequent back operation. He doggedly swims 60 laps of the pool every day despite being an awkward swimmer.
On one particular day, many distractions occur, one after another -but he swims on. However, one strange event occurs that drives all the other swimmers out of the pool, but not him. He swims on, determined to finish his laps. The lifeguard and other swimmers are astounded because they know why the alarm was raised.
It's a story about the triumph of age over adversity. It's also our homage to some of our favorite Hollywood movies in which swimming is featured.
