David Maurice Bailey has been directing and producing film and video for more than 7 years. Based in Columbus Ohio, Bailey, along with his production company, Basement Deep Media Group, LLC., counts numerous documentaries, commercials, long format programs, DVD's, music videos and experimental films among his credits.
A pioneer in local film production since 2007, David has directed/edited/produced/written over 50 film projects for various artists, events, documentaries, non-profits, weddings, commercials, and many more.
In March 2012, Bailey covered the Women’s Olympic Weight Lifting Trials for Universal Sports NBC. Since then he has written a new screen play “It’s The Shoes Money“ and filmed, directed, or edited over 30 projects, including a campaign for Universal Sports Columbus, (Monthly Sports Calendar) that was featured on cable television.
To advance his interest in socially responsible filmmaking, Bailey volunteered film making for non-profits to help charitable organizations get their stories seen, heard and remembered. Projects include films for New Harvest Urban Arts Center (A Place To Remember). Bailey work has been on display at the Ohio Historical Society.
He is currently in development on a documentary film, The Franklinton Log Post Office, with real estate investor Walter Reiner. The film explores the restoration of the oldest known building in Central Ohio on it’s original foundation. The house was built in 1807, and was founded by David Dearduff. It was the first post office in Franklinton Ohio, and was one of the first log cabins built of it’s kind that included a basement.
