Director Statement

“Nemercka” means “the sleeping woman” according to Slavic traditions.
An urban legend has it that the mountain is named due to the shape of the ridge; that corresponds to the shape of a lying woman.
The storyline is driven by a sense of loss that connects three elements; the polyphonic music, the Epirotic landscape and the local people.
My intention was to create an atmosphere where the viewer is free to roam; To become a visitor of a place that is as unearthly as it is seducing.
That’s why I feel that I couldn’t have recounted this story in any other place.
