Having worked in Indian Television Industry for over 3 decades, Arun Frank has been one of the few directors who catalysed the neo-classical movement of Indian Television during the 80s. His directorial repertoire ranges from hard-hitting dramas such as the daily Zindagi…Teri Meri Kahani, the iconic weekly Andaz to countdown shows, to mini-series, telefilms and much more. His formative experience led him to pen his first script and he commences his directorial journey with an unusual story of a father-son relationship- “Dad… Hold My Hand.”
"Dad...Hold My Hand" is a simple story. I was motivated to do this script as I felt the emotions (expressed in the script) very deeply. A lot of the emotional happenings have been taken from real life... things that have happened in the lives of close friends...people I’ve known...some of it I have personally gone through. No, this is not a biography. It was just a case of taking incidents from different lives... putting them together... and trying to tell a story. In my belief, the only common language across the globe is Emotions...no matter which country you belong to... what language you speak...what religion you follow...emotions will keep you connected. We have shot the film very simply... trying to keep the focus more on the content.we have tried to keep the film grounded hope you all enjoy it.
