Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it."
~Mark Twain
Addiction is a complex expression of pain. It takes us over. It causes humans to act in unspeakable ways. It destroys families and friendships. But, if we are diligent, we can heal from the legacy of pain, and provide redemption for both the perpetrators and the victims.
Ruth, our lead actress, and I spoke at length about how casting one actress to play both sisters in “Sienna Burning” was a nod to one’s internal struggle between light and dark. We are all capable of unspeakable things, and we are equally capable of great light.
Bend toward the light.
