Ryett County

Gangs of bikers, refugees, aboriginals, and rednecks vie for control of the drug trade in rural Ontario, Canada. "Ryett County" is seen through the eyes of an outlaw biker informant, substance-abusing teen, marginalized African refugee, and a right-minded pharmacist. The show explores interrelated themes of addiction, family, belonging, and industrial decline.

Writer Biography - Nicholas Malian, Scott McKnight

Nick is a pharmacist working in southwest western Ontario, Canada. Scott is earning his PhD in political science at the University of Toronto, Canada.

We have been life long friends as little league baseball teammates growing up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

This show developed organically over several months. Our ideas eventually snowballed into a deep and layered and story that is authentic to Canada and its plight with crime and prescription drug abuse.
