Largely inspired by the artwork of Egon Schiele, this dance film investigates how time and space mold the bond between two people in love.

Director Biography - Anna Reyes, Tamara Al-Mashouk


Originally from Austin Texas, Anna Reyes began her training at Tapestry Dance Company. She participated in Tapestry’s pre-apprentice program, Visions in Rhythm, for five years. She also studied choreography all four years of high school, winning both the St. Stephen's Book Award for Best Choreography and the Young Masters Grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2004.

In 2007, Anna began training at The Boston Conservatory where she performed works by Alwin Nikolais (Blank on Blank), José Limón (There is a Time), Daniel McCusker (Plait, World Premiere), and various student choreographers. In May 2011, Anna graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance.
Anna has trained at numerous summer programs such as Interlochen, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, LINES Ballet, The Paul Taylor Intensive, Jacob's Pillow, The Movement Invention Project, Shen Wei Dance Arts, and Maine Island Dance Festival on scholarship. At Jacob's Pillow, she performed in new works by Aszure Barton, Helen Pickett, and Tero Saarinen.
Active in the Boston dance scene, Anna has danced for Luminarium Dance Company, BoSoma Dance, 1,000 Virtues Dance, Jo-Me Dance Theatre, Olivier Besson, Bridget Morris, and Reggie Wilson.
Anna's work has been presented throughout Boston, New York City, and Austin. In 2013, Anna choreographed and starred in Eighteen, an art film by acclaimed artists Hubbard and Birchler which is currently on exhibit in art galleries internationally. Ms. Reyes premiered her own dance film, The Good Parts of Being Alive with collaborators Tamara Al-Mashouk (video) and Jordan Maley (composer) at Make Shift Boston. Chosen as a 2015 dance resident artist for The Boston Center for the Arts, she used her residency to expand The Good Parts of Being Alive into a multimedia piece with video projections and live dance.
