L'uomo del pane
'L'uomo del pane' was realized in and around Pane Per Poveri (bread for the poor), a project organized by a group of Berlin artists, which was held in Lido, during the opening of the 56th Venice Biennale.
The film raises questions on the role of the artist and collective endeavors, while still awakening emotions and senses. This duality, to be immersed in a collective with its own dynamics and the desire to expand limits and open senses, is what many artists have in common. The film doesn’t offer solutions to these ongoing struggles but confirms the unavoidability of results, as the parallel documentation of the bread maker illustrates.
It is the first full length film by director Hanna Hildebrand.
