HEAD
HEAD - HORROR THE ELMWOOD WAY
is a one of a kind film starring an all puppet cast in a throwback to the slasher films of the 1970's and 1980's. A group of twenty somethings go for a nice fall weekend camping trip and end up in the middle of nightmare they may never escape from.

Jon Bristol is the Founder and Creative Director of Elmwood Productions. Founded in 2001 to make films featuring all puppet casts Jon wanted to try something different than we're used to seeing with the Henson style of puppetry. After producing, directing, and starring in "Steve the Vampire", a web-series, he and Elmwood Productions moved onto their first feature film, the underground film "Josh and Todd: The Story of A Man and His Puppet". After that they moved onto more shorts and two more web-series ("Animal Behavior" and G@mrz"). In 2014 Jon directed the horror/comedy "HEAD" which as played in film festivals all over the globe, and winning serval awards, including Best Screenplay for his script at the Legless Corpse Film Festival, a fest focusing on the horror genre.
Jon as a self taught puppet maker as well, and writes much of Elmwood's content. But he firmly believes that film and production works best as a collaborative effort, and is always fast to acknowledge the members of Elmwood Productions who have been there in many roles to keep the company a success.
I like to joke that I'm not trying to offend anyone, just entertain myself. But that statement, in many ways, is very true. If it's a R-rated horror flick or a G-Rated family comedy short I am first trying to entertain myself and the gang at Elmwood Productions. If we're entertained then we are sure someone else will like it as well. I hope to make films, and art, that make people smile, and give them something to think and talk about after, and maybe inspire them to create their own art of some sort. And if I'm lucky hopefully they will come back for more!
