Seung hoon Han was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea. He went on to study for seven years, earning his Master of theology from the Catholic University of Daegu.
He was ordained in 2002 and became a Roman Catholic priest.
Seung hoon Han was offered the opportunity to work for 3 years with military families in the Korean Catholic community of Fayetteville, North Carolina. After working in Fayetteville, NC, he was given the opportunity to pursue his studies to attend the New York and Los Angeles campuses of the New York Film Academy, so he felt like filmmaking is his second vocation. In his time at NYFA, he had opportunity to work on 25 short films and even directed two shorts of his own. He received his Master of Fine Arts in September, 2015 from the New York Film Academy.
After graduation, Han is planning to work for Catholic film and broadcast associations in his native Korea and is preparing to produce his first feature film with a Korean film company in the hopes of creating a Korea-Hollywood co-production.
New York is the most diverse city in the world. Many people from all over the world live there and their unique cultures shape the city. There are so many stories about love, break ups, and betrayal in New York. The three women in my film represent that diverse culture and stories of the city.
Revenge is a natural reaction to betrayal, but I don't want to take it too seriously. I got this idea from an experience I had when I was a kid. It was very shameful (and painful) but it is one of my funniest memories. I wanted to share my funny experience originate in my own culture.
Sometimes we feel like we should take revenge on those who hurt us. However, I hope we can learn to let anger slide away.
