PJ WOODSIDE has won awards as a writer, director, actor, and sound editor. Her female characters love to twist cultural expectations into sick little tales of betrayal, revenge, and the workings of the subconscious mind. Her newest film, Frances Stein, is a modern-day female mad scientist thriller with a Frankenstein twist. She’s also the writer and director of Lucid (2013), The Creepy Doll (2011), and Widow (2009). In addition to partnering with Big Biting Pig Productions, she runs her own video editing business, PJ's Productions, which produces book trailers, music videos and other projects.
I like to take expectations about female archetypes and twist them around to reflect a different reality. I'm extremely pleased with how we accomplished this in Frances Stein.
