The Galway Hooker was a traditional fishing boat, carrying turf and goods across Galway Bay from Galway City, Connemara, the Burren and the Aran Islands.
This documentary captures the revival and the building of the iconic Galway Hooker, the first in it's class built in Galway city since the early 1920's, by Bádoirí an Cladaigh (Claddagh Boatmen), using traditional skills and tools.Keeping a great tradition alive.
Stunning scenery, traditional singing and dancing and inspirational characters make this story a truly emotional journey for the audience, showing the true heart of Galway, Ireland.
