The Necklace (pre-viewing)

Deep in the remote area of Northern Nepal, nested between the Tibetan/Nepalese boarder, the Upper Mustang-Tibetan Plateau, a tiny Himalayan village- Jharkot, lives a young couple, Doma- a quiet and strong farm girl and her flamboyant fiancé Karluman, the only son of a local farmer.

Modernization is gradually encroaching on this once isolated traditional Nepali-Tibetan farming village, as he increasingly becomes restless, feeling trapped of being a small time farmer and contemplating of a different life in the big city. He begs Doma for her inherited precious necklace; if he can sell it for a good price, then they can start a new life.

Doma is forced to make a choice against her better judgement.

In the city, he befriends Manish, a slick young man who may just have a right buyer in mind for the precious necklace.

What will happen to Karluman and his big schemes?
