Experiencing Interruptions?

Slow-ahead

Vessels slowly make their way along the course of the river. Between the metallic walls, crouching neon-suited figures are silently working. The sounds of the roaring engine and the screaming saws fill up the space. From the riverbanks of the Seine only resonates the remote echo of an unreachable world.

Director Biography - Marie Bottois

Marie Bottois is a french filmmaker born in 1989. She directed her first film at the Lussas Documentary School in 2013 : "Histoires de France partie 2". This short and non-narrative documentary was selected at the international film festival Visions du réel (Nyon, Switzerland, 2014).
With "Slow-Ahead," produced by the G.R.E.C., and shot in Normandy (France), she continues her process of hybridization between anthropological observation and visual and sound experimentation. This film without dialogue takes the viewer inside the hermetic world of the shipping industry.
