Carmen Falk is an experienced writer, actor and director. She has directed four short films, including ‘Ravenous’, a short horror film which was part of the Official Selection at a number of international film festivals, and won 'Best Film' at the Stranger with My Face Horror Film festival (Judged by Jennifer Lynch) and 'Best Actress' at Melbourne Underground Festival.
Her Children's Fantasy 'TITAN' (ABC2, ABCiView, Flickerkids, Chicago International Children's Film Festival, Virgin Airlines) was made as part of The Raw Nerve Initiative (Screen Australia, Wide Angle Tasmania), an Initiative that funds 3 Emerging Directors from each State and supports them in the filmmaking process. Titan was filmed by Cinematographer, David Burr, sraight off the bat from filming 'Mad Max Fury Road'.
In 2014 she was selected as a SilverScreen Director through Screen Tasmania, funded to train towards a career in the Industry.
She has developed pitches for a number of series, including ‘Saurus Street’, a TV series pitch which won the 2013 SPAA ‘Pitching to the Pros’ competition. She has co-developed a Interactive Dinosaur Reading App with financial support from Screen Tasmania.
Carmen has danced and acted professionally on stage and on TV and has been a Performance Arts Teacher for 12years.
