Little Susie
“Little Susie” is the story of a 5 year-old girl whose safe, imaginary and perfect world in her tent is ruined by seeing her parents fight and get abusive for the first time. Now, she must face the challenges of the adult world, too fast and too soon. Susie must find a way to retreat from what she hears and sees. When the fight disrupts the peace she finds in her tent, she confronts her parents with an emotional plea to stop their fighting.

Maral Servat was born in Tehran, Iran and is mixed with Persian and Turk. Her parents were both writers, lending to her talents. In her early years, Maral moved between Tabriz and Tehran where she studied theatrical production. She attended high school in Shanghai, China and later lived in Warsaw, Poland where she got her Masters Degree. Her continued passion for filmmaking lead her to attend the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles which she graduated from in 2014 with her thesis film “Little Susie.” Maral was destined to become an amazing filmmaker before her passing in May 2015.
Maral's untimely passing has left her friends and family to carry on her legacy with her films. Here was her mission in life written in her words: I try to carry on my parent's best qualities by keeping my head up high and working hard to achieve my dreams.
