Alex Shipman is a filmmaker, BFI Film Academy and NFTS Craft Skills Residential Alumni. Her first experience of filmmaking was with the BFI Film Academy at the age of 17 where she directed a short Sci-Fi Film. She has gone on to work for companies such as Paramount Pictures, Cavier, Sky Arts, Freemantle Media and the British Film Institute as a Directors PA, Production Assistant, Runner and Mentor.
Following the success of her first solo short film, which screened in London, LA, Seattle, Norway, Croatia and on the British television channel London Live, Alex is currently directing a feature boxing documentary about her mother, a 50 year old boxer. She is also directing and co-writing (with writer Brendan Duggan) a superhero pilot to be distributed with Amazon.
