Shark & Lion
This short film was shot on the Bahamas, Caribbean. The venomous lion fish was introduced by accident into the Caribbean. It populates too much, disturbs the balance of the local marine eco system and causes immense damage on the reefs. One way to protect the reefs is to spear the lion fishes and feed them to sharks.
By telling a symbolic short story, „Shark & Lion“ puts a light on this ecological problem:
Somewhen, somewhere, a shell collecting stranger gets stung by a venomous lion fish, gets unconscious, falls into the sea, and floats away. Meanwhile, beneath the surface, sharks and lion fishes fight the fundamental game of the world, the game of hide and seek. The outcome of this game does not only decide about the balance of the reef eco system, but also about the life of the protagonist.

'Behind the Mask' is a project about passion for nature. We love to dive, fly and shoot. Along the way we observe, listen and document. The results are published as short narrative or short documentary films, pictures and reports.
As soon as we are on a trip we feel like little kids playing outside, discovering something new under each stone. With new media at hand and a long builded up expertise in creating appealing media, 'Behind the Mask' we find a healthy balance in our lives.
We want to be part of the global network of creative nature enthusiasts trying to push our own limitations a bit further every time.
We intent to be polite, entertaining and transparent in our actions.
We believe that by telling our stories we can shine a light on the beauty of nature.
