Writer Biography - John Madill

John Madill was born and raised in Texas. He has written two novels, PERMAFROST (upon which his scripts THE RIGHT WRONG MOVE and CASABLANCA 101 are based) and NOWHERE FAST (currently in script development). His most recent project is THE BORDER AGENT, an adaptation of the classic German play, WOYZECK. The script for THE BORDER AGENT, which won a Bronze Palm award at the 2016 Mexico International Film Festival, was also selected for competition at the 2015 Oaxaca FilmFest, the 2016 Austin Revolution Film Festival, the 2017 Pasadena International Film Festival, and was awarded a Semi-Finalist spot in the 2017 Polish International Film Festival. Although John has spent most of the last 20 years in Europe, he has now returned to the California Bay Area, where he resides with his spouse, Ginger, and a tiny circus dog named Gumby.
