Job Type: Permanent
A short film exploring the role of Love, presented as a physical character, in different people’s lives. Love struggles to help Scarlett Raine, a heartbroken woman who refuses to accept that she still loves or ever did love her previous boyfriend. Her story is juxtaposed with the stories of Gabriella and Gregory Verde, a couple who have been happily married for 31 years; and Yorick and Rosy Blau, a granddad and granddaughter who are best friends. Love has lost faith in himself even to the point of trying to find a replacement to fulfil his job role.

Michelle Karaivanov was born in South Africa and moved to England in 1999. She is Bulgarian and is very influenced by her experience living in one culture but being from another. She likes deciphering people from how they act to what they feel. She is interested in exploring the aesthetics of life - the subtle beauty that can be found in people, nature, and even ideas.

'Job Type: Permanent' was conjured up when I asked myself - what would it be like if Love was an everyday guy? It's a colourful and curious film which I hope people will enjoy with a colourful curiosity.
