we all can see them, and we all do it by ourselves: living the new ways of communication. at home, on the streets, everywhere. i wonder how does it look from the outside, let ́s say from a animals' or aliens' view. under a filmmakers' perspective what exactly is changing with the supposed new possibilities of digital communication? the dedication people using their laptops or smartphone-devices quite all the time and everywhere give me an impression of a children ́s fascination for mother's attention. it irritates me also. where does this all go, and for those who do not like it, is there a way out of it? how did we do things in times when there was no internet? in my eyes insurance-companies should be - and i know they are - very interested in this, because our attention and recognition is changing, and more than often it leads to confrontation with the former standards (do we trust our own eyes?). while the discrepancy of information and knowledge gets to a new level, all this also has a great comical dimension. one point is for sure that humans tend to imitade other humans to be conform. the developments of contemporary digital communication make me curious the same way they depresse me at times. i want to explore more on this topic and continuing to transform my observations into a language i speak now for several years, into a filmic language, in films of short duration where "men stare at mobiles"
