Director Biography - Rod Murphy

Rod Murphy has won 14 awards for his first three documentary features including "Best of Fest," "Best Documentary" and "Audience Award." He also directs/produces video in the commercial and non-profit world for organizations and companies such as Outward Bound, American Express, New Belgium Brewing, Habitat for Humanity and Industries for the Blind. His work has been screened internationally at festivals and on public and cable television. El Chivo is his 4th feature length documentary.

For me "El Chivo" is a cerebral sports documentary about an elite Ultra Marathoner who is navigating his world as an altruistic father and husband, who is competes at world class ultra marathons while trying to maintain family life, all with a middle age approaching and injuries cropping up.
