Audrey Lorea is an emerging independent director with an innovative and provocative voice. Her feature film, a romantic psychological, sci-fi thriller “Heaven is Now,” will be debuting in the festival circuit in 2016. As a director, Lorea is currently attached to the feature film ‘Body of Boys,’ filming in New Mexico, as well as the electronic-opera space-exploration film, ‘eXo-planet,’ which will begin filming in Iceland in Spring 2016. Additionally, she worked as the second unit director of the feature film, ‘Detours’ (featuring Richard Kind, Paul Sorvino). In addition to her ever-evolving, maverick directorial work, she has extensive experience as a producer including feature films, commercials, pilots and music videos. Notable producing credits include the upcoming film, ‘Twice Upon a Time’ (Paul Borghese, Dir.), ‘Green Eyes’, ‘Gumshoes’ (in development), and the film ‘Girl Night Stand’ (Jenna Laurenzo, dir., with Big Vision Empty Wallet). Not only does Lorea seek to revolutionize cinema with her directing and producing work, but she also seeks to fight for equality and justice internationally through various means and media. With a strong academic foundation in International Relations, Economics and Literature, Lorea has worked on projects in conjunction with the Ford Foundation, the EastWest Institute, as well as the Fulbright Foundation.
It’s a priority of mine to create images that feed the unconscious more than the conscious. In the new frontier of the digitized moving image, it is vital to understand the power of the symbol on the mind.
