Chamber Music - audiovisual building sound portrait

Looking at the infrasonic backside, the place where the windows should be closed and the curtains drawn, anonymously rehearsing for a concert. Looking at the building, you will notice the musicians, sitting and rehearsing in their separately lit rooms. Every night, this results in a visual interplay of those parallel worlds - like some kind of mosaic or musical sequencer, still, this auditory interplay is not actually audible. The concept for this audiovisual sound portrait of the Robert Schumann School of Music building in Düsseldorf, was founded when thinking about the idea of "switching" these rooms on and off, thus connecting and arranging the independent pieces of music and light. One will experience 14 musicians and a conductor, - the conductor is opening, the musicians are apparently reacting. Together, a composition specially made for this portrait is being performed. All of the rhythmic and harmonic sequences obviously seem self-sufficient by nature, but are made to appear united to the listener/viewer. This, in turn, presents the viewer with a connection that needs to be questioned.
This project is a means of interference, disintegrating the concept of internal and external, of isolation and collectiveness, playing with the perception of time without changing rhythm. It is the result of interrupting this parallel event, however, an allegedly real image remains present to the viewer. The essence of this audiovisual composition and the goal of its technical production is to portray the building’s inner life.
The film could also be shown on walls or buldings by using projection mapping. The bigger the screening and the darker the surroundring area, the more convenient to the content of the film.

My preferences are synchronicities and parallel guidances or to construct these in an audiovisual way. And stil more than that, the excitement when they drift apart.
