In 1992 Ilya produced documentary film "Meeting with America", which was successfully demonstrated on various TV channels in Kazakhstan.
Since 1997 Ilya Tauchelov lives in Prague, Czech Republic. He is currently an independent writer, producer and director. Since 2010 Ilya has been actively worked in Kazakhstan, shooting commercials and documentaries. In 2016, Ilya has completed production of his first movie "The Lake", made in genre of drama.
The Lake movie shows one day of young people relations, initially did not promise anything wrong. But the tragedy that follows, I suppose, will force the audience to think about many things - love, friendship, honesty, danger of drugs.
The title of the movie has a hidden meaning of everything that happens on the screen. Mountain lakes in fact are very cold and clear. Arriving to the lake, our heroes expose their souls, their feelings, and their real faces that hide behind the mask of everyday city life. The lake is a place of clarification, where the entire husk is removed from the human soul. There is a tragedy in the film. But in fact, the purpose - not intimidation by death, vice versa - a call to live in full strength, and to love in full force and not to waste every minute of this life.
I hope the audience will like film’s lyric, dramatic effect and the subtle psychology, which are decorated with beautiful songs and nice mountain scenery in southern Kazakhstan.
