Director Statement

LAUNDROMAT has been a passion of mine since 2012, when I wrote the first draft in my Fundamentals of Screenwriting class at The Art Institute of CA: Sacramento. I've produced seven short films in between then and now, making LAUNDROMAT my senior thesis film.

As a child, I loved watching classic television shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. I grew up watching movies like Psycho, Rear Window, Charade and Wait Until Dark.

Films that have influenced this script directly include noir classics such as Notorious and Laura as well as modern influences ranging from the remake of Mildred Pierce (the HBO mini-series starring Kate Winslet) to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.

Just having the opportunity to write, direct and produce LAUNDROMAT means more to me than I can say. Everything I've ever loved about the movies is rolled up into this one little package.
