II: Body Next To Black
„Body Next To Black“ was written and directed in summer of 2014 as the 2nd movement for The Speaker‘s upcoming symphony 'Love Must Die' to unify his musical work as a composer with his visual work as a director.
After he finished composing the music The Speaker/Eduard Modestow realised that he didn't want to stop halfway and decided that his whole musical symphony should also be expressed in videos he wanted to direct on his own to make people connect with the theme of the symphony: the flow of relationships.
The 2nd movement of the symphony 'II: Body Next To Black' quickly became the heart of his project, featuring a slow-motion one-shot showing a befriended couple kiss each other; no actors; no fake; originally ment to be a test clip, the video was shot without using any lights or other equipment but a handheld camera capturing the short unity of solitude and togetherness.

Eduard Modestow - german composer & director.
Born in Russia and after an early emigration to Germany in 1994, Eduard Modestow released several tapes as ‘Sweeping Logic’ which secured him a signing to an indie music label. In 2010 he stopped releasing as ‘Sweeping Logic’ and started to work as a writer for commercials and pop-bands. His decision to quit this occupation in 2013 led him to a short time of musical silence. At that time he started to follow his lost musical roots into ambient and electronic music.
In 2014 he began his most ambitious project: the composition of his first symphony ‘Love Must Die’, a melting pot of ambient beats and classical symphonic composition accompanied by music-videos which melt into one big short movie produced and directed by himself: everything centered around the flow of human relationships.
