“40 Weeks… And a Half!” or “¡40 Semanas... ¡y media!” Webseries uses all of today´s engagement tools to educate Hispanic parent´s-to-be about how to have a successful pregnancy. The combination of humor, cultural themes, transmedia resources, and medical expertise provides a powerful learning and entertaining experience for Hispanic viewers. The characters of the Webseries have online profiles through which they engage regularly with the viewers to share pregnancy experiences. The characters write secret diaries about their experiences in the Webseries video pages for the audience to read and comment. The audience is encouraged to participate in polls related to the Webseries content. We accumulated more than 200,000 hits on the BabyCenter Website, Facebook, and YouTube pages on the first week after launching, and got hundreds of positive comments about the content. We hope to create enough excitement to continue with the production of the Webseries both in English and Spanish.
