ART OnSite: Building Community

Art OnSite was a land-based art project situated along the
Deer Creek Tribute Trail in Nevada City, California. The project brought people and the natural environment together in an innovative and artistic way, but also created awareness and challenged people’s ideas of what art could be. It told the story about a place and its history. In this video, the project leaders describe how they created, funded, and managed the project from start to finish. Art OnSite was partially funded with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and matched by community members.
