Yo-Jia faced the dilemma between his family and career.
Yo-Jia and Hsiao-Mei own a nowadays typical double-income family. They can fully focus on their career and have no worries about the household affairs as Yo-Jia’s mother always can keep it perfectly.
At the timing Yo-Jia gets job promotion and they are going to have the second child, it’s almost towards their ideal life.
However, when they just notice the aged symptoms of Yo-Jia’s mother, May who is pregnant feels very stressful taking over all the household affairs. As Yo-Jia’s mother’s sudden illness and long staying in the hospital, it makes the Jiang Family become a mess. The family and career pressure drives Yo-Jia in the difficult place…

Director Statement

The purpose of this movie is to wish people pay more attention on the family elders and have to serve the elders from daily life details. It would be more meaningful to be considerate to the elders everyday rather than just looking after them ocassionally. The wording “family leave” is still not common and popular at the time being. However we symbolizes it as the change of mind, just as the main actor Yo-Jia Chiang in the movie finally makes the decision to ask for family leave and accompany the families.
