Sarah is an actress, producer and director from Atlanta, Georgia. Holding a degree in French from Florida State University, Sarah became a medical device sales rep before quitting her job in 2011 to pursue her passion--a career in film. She returned to Atlanta in May 2012 and founded her production company, Spicer Productions. Since returning to her beloved city, Sarah has acted in national commercials, international films, and produced and directed documentaries and features. Outside of film, Sarah enjoys writing and published her first children's book in May 2012. She is currently working on her next documentary, a television show and several book projects.
Matthew Moore is a writer and editor from Johns Creek. He attended high school with Steve Dezember where they golfed and played hockey together. Steve was one of Matt's idols. Upon learning of Steve's diagnosis, Matt knew he wanted to do something to help. He and Sarah linked up and have worked for the last two years together on the film. Outside of the documentary, Matt puts on a golf tournament every year to raise funds for the couple.
We often talk about the experience of working on "Hope For Steve". We agree that it has been the most challenging and most rewarding thing we have ever done. I have never put myself into anything the way I have with this film. At the risk of sounding cliche, Hope and Steve have taught us things that have literally changed our lives. We hope that this film affects the masses the way it has affected us and those involved. I, personally, consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to do this documentary.
