Sardonic Smile (Das sardonische Lächeln)
Grazia, sister of student of archeology Isabella, is missing. The German police is not of great help and thus Isabella follows the only trace she has: to Sardinia. There she actually finds her sister in the camp of a mysterious escapist, amidst ancient sagas and unsettling crimes. And in the end it's Isabella who gets trapped in the clutches of a precarious past.

The narrowness of the parental rooms is in stark contrast of the almost poetic monotony of Sardinia. Seemingly the land has been freezing in vastness and mysterious stoicism for centuries. Thereby, the protagonists almost appear to be surreal, the surroundings are occasionally strange. It is Isabella’s perception, Isabella’s sentiment. Something is wrong with her. Something seems to be different from what we, the audience, are used to. Together with Isabella we glide in the disturbing abyss of her anxiety.
This is the story of a clever temptation, but it’s the story of a healing as well.
