Director Statement

Night Raid is dedicated to one part of my past. I turn the three female characters in real life into three male ones to make the story more dramatic. Through this film, I would like to present the different senses of values in two generations and how young people (twenties and thirties) nowadays see about their lives. I also extend the aspects of this film to the issues of “cross-seas,” the elements about military men and the history of this island. The suspicious atmosphere and the warm touch of family bonds are also added to it because of my personal preference. I hope that people will love this movie and are recalled of “love” and “care” by this story.
